Hi! I am Jingyu Zhang, a PhD candidate in Organization Behavior and Human Resource Management at University of Illinois Chicago.
I am on the job market in Fall 2023.
My research program investigates centers on the main research question:
how do social interactions shape employees’ work outcomes?
I study interpersonal processes in three interconnected streams: leadership, work and nonwork interface, and identity management.
Leadership: I aim to unravel the nuances of leader interactions – both with romantic partners and followers– and investigate its implications at work.
Work–nonwork interface: I further explore two topics that transcend work and nonwork interface through an interpersonal lens: work events at home (i.e., partner sharing work events), and nonwork events at work (i.e., employee taking work breaks).
Identity management: I am interested in how leaders develop their identity and how employees navigate identity cues in social interactions.
